The Garden Grove Strawberry Festival Is Always Berry, Berry Good (Blessings To All Who Wave "Hi" To K-WAVE)!


Along with being an on-air radio personality at KWVE/"K-WAVE" 107.9 (the radio station owned by & on the campus of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa, founded by Pastor Chuck Smith, as portrayed in the movie "Jesus Revolution"), I always have a wonderful time doing public appearances in various Southern California communities. This past Saturday afternoon, my wife April & I had a joyful time serving yet again (for the 9th time) at the KWVE Radio booth at the annual Garden Grove Strawberry Festival, in The OC (not to be confused with a certain faction on "WWE SmackDown"...hey, being a former pro wrestling announcer, I always have to throw in a wrestling reference). 

Blessings to KWVE Assistant General Manager Mark Shaffer, who reached out to me first to see if April & I would like to represent KWVE again at the 63rd edition of this annual fest, and I immediately replied "yes", because it is always a blessing to meet our Christian radio listeners, as well as folks who don't yet know the Lord who are "searching" and Christ followers who may be struggling or who have doubts about their faith. 

April always looks forward to being with me at the KWVE booth, praying to our God for "divine appointments", as a way to "plant seeds" and introduce folks to our Lord Yeshua/Jesus and His eternal kingdom, and to equip and encourage those who are in the family of believers. Along with our God-given words of encouragement, the KWVE booth always has tools to provide encouragement, including free Bibles and Christ-centered books. April & I always point out that these resources at our KWVE booth are free, just like Jesus Christ's gift of salvation is free to anyone who repents, believes and receives.

The Garden Grove Strawberry Festival is always held during the Memorial Day weekend. Of course, it is appropriate to focus on the true meaning of Memorial Day, to honor the brave servants in the military who sacrificed their lives to fight for our country's freedoms. And no matter what day it is, April & I always focus on our Servant King, who made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us around the world, who shed His blood on the cross to give everyone everlasting freedom from the bondage of sin and the coming wrath of God, and who rose from the dead as the first of the harvest, followed by all who belong to Christ, who will be raised in glory when He returns (1 Corinthians 15:23). And in the future new heaven and new earth (Revelation 21), the food will be even better than the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival's strawberries that are berry, berry good!

K-WAVE 107.9 Now Also Delivers Truth & Hope On Los Angeles' AM 1110!

My fellow KWVE/"K-WAVE" on-air colleagues & I are excited to be a part of a radio ministry team that made history just hours ago. Along with 107.9 FM, K-WAVE is also now heard on the legendary 50,000-watt powerhouse known as AM 1110 in Los Angeles! A few months ago, my employer Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa (founded by Pastor Chuck Smith) bought AM 1110 from The Disney Company for $5 million (a nice piece of cheese to a certain Mouse Factory, in what is not a Mickey Mouse deal). On Friday, September 8th, 2023, at 3:00 PM Pacific Time, AM 1110 made the switch from a Disney Company-owned sports talk format to a Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa-owned Christian talk/Bible teaching format. Among many others, my wife April was an "earwitness", telling me over the phone that she could hear K-WAVE loud and clear on AM 1110 while driving through the San Fernando Valley (where our 107.9 FM signal can be "spotty" in some areas). Birthdays, Marks & More Wrestling Career Memories

My wife April took this recent photo of me with my long-time good friend and former Chicago-based pro wrestler/promoter/trainer Sonny Rogers. This picture features me & Sonny in front of the Oak Creek Diner in Oak Creek, Wisconsin (near where Sonny currently resides)...one of this diner's regulars is a peculiar old man whom Sonny calls "Terrytales" since this individual named Terry tells a lot of tall tales as a way to get everybody's attention. Since Sonny already mentioned on the old school wrestling website Kayfabe Memories that he, yours truly and former wrestler Jonnie Stewart all have birthdays on March 4th (even though I regard every day the same as any other, per Romans 14:5), I thought I'd share this memory of mine involving the 3 of us birthday boys in a wrestling ring.
