KWVE, Our Prize Wheel And The Harvest Crusade Pointing To Christ Jesus

Praise God that just hours ago, my wife April & I (pictured above) again enjoyed working at the KWVE/"K-WAVE" booth (greeting current and hopefully future "K-WAVE" Christian Radio listeners), this time at the annual SoCal Harvest Crusade, which features performances by Christian music artists and a gospel message by Pastor Greg Laurie (decades ago, the Harvest Crusade was an idea encouraged by Pastor Chuck Smith to Pastor Greg Laurie, and the current movie "Jesus Revolution" is a fine introduction to the histories of these two pastors and their impactful ministries). For over a decade now, I've had the honor of doing live broadcasts and/or working at the KWVE booth at past Harvest Crusades at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and Angel Stadium of Anaheim, but this was the first time I worked at a Harvest Crusade at the Honda Center in Anaheim...on this special day, the home of the Mighty Ducks turned into da hizzouse of Almighty God!

At our "K-WAVE" booth, many people lined up to win a prize by spinning our "Wheel Of Fortune"-like prize wheel, winning prizes that will hopefully introduce folks to our Lord or strengthen the faith of our fellow believers. Since most people around the globe know me as "the professional wrestling announcer dude", our "K-WAVE Prize Wheel" reminds me of a famous 1992 pro wrestling main event hyped as "Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal", pitting the face-painted superhero called Sting vs. the devious villain Jake "The Snake" Roberts. Before this bout took place, a "Wheel Of Fortune"-type wheel was spun to determine what style of match Sting and Jake The Snake had to wrestle in. The wrestling match stipulations on this spinning wheel included a cage match, a dog collar match, a Prince of Darkness match, a barbed wire match, a Texas bullrope match, a Texas death match, and a Russian chain match, and when it was spun, this wheel stopped on a Coal Miner's Glove On A Pole match (not to be confused with the snake on the pole in the Bible's Numbers 21:8 and John 3:14). Sting won this match when he climbed up a pole, grabbed the coal miner's glove and hit Jake with it for the pin and win (to add injury to insult, Jake The Snake was seriously bitten by a real live snake that he carried with him).

When it comes to accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and having an everlasting relationship with Him, you don't have to climb up a pole or climb anywhere or pour your blood, sweat and tears in any arena in order to win His free gift of salvation, because Jesus, God in human form, came down to this earth that He created in order to offer His free gift of eternal life to sinful human beings like you and me, with Jesus doing all the work (Ephesians 2:8-9)! And unlike these spinning "Wheel Of Fortune"-like wheels, accepting a relationship (not "religion") with our Lord Jesus Christ is NOT a game of chance (nor a mere game to try in order to simply pass the time)...when you embrace Christ Jesus and give every area of your life to Him as your authority, the Spirit of God will let you know Who you are getting and what you are getting for the rest of your life on this earth and beyond (John 3:16, John 3:36, John 5:24, Romans 5:9, Romans 10:13, 1 John 2:25, Titus 2:13, Revelation 21-22).

A shout-out to my KWVE colleagues Phil Ross, Brian Perez, Chad Kelley and Connor Milligan (who were all there with me & April at this Harvest Crusade at the Honda Center...I got a chuckle out of this devoted young female "K-WAVE" listener who requested and had a picture taken with her, me and Brian together, after she said, "I feel so star-struck!"), and thanks again to KWVE Assistant General Manager Mark Shaffer for asking me & April again to work at another "K-WAVE" event. Thank God that we are doing His work that He prepared for us to do (Ephesians 2:10).
