L.A. Dodgers In World Series While Serving At Harvest Fest (Stay Alert And Be Ready)!

Just hours ago, my wife April & I enjoyed serving at one of the booths at Calvary Chapel Azusa's Harvest Fest (featuring games, candy and all sorts of family fun), which included praying for people asking for prayer, and it was a delight meeting and getting to know one of my very loyal radio listeners at this event (Ms. Andrews of Rialto), after she heard me announcing on KWVE/"K-WAVE" Christian Radio (FM 107.9 & AM 1110/Los Angeles) that my wife & I will be serving at this event.

The turnout for this Los Angeles County event was surprisingly good, considering that the Los Angeles Dodgers were playing a "need to win" Game 6 of the World Series vs. the Toronto Blue Jays as our harvest festival was taking place (as a side note, Toronto is the home of one of my old FMW Wrestling co-hosts, Dan "The Mouth" Lovranski from Live Audio Wrestling).

While moms, dads and their kids were having fun at this Harvest Fest, some of these folks were frequently watching their phones, checking out the latest score of this Dodgers-Blue Jays game (or watching this game on their phones), and someone nearby was listening to this World Series game's live broadcast on the radio. As the Harvest Fest's festivities were winding down, the L.A. Dodgers wound up winning this Game 6 by a score of 3-1, forcing a Game 7 (with a number of people in their cars honking their horns as "victory honks", and there was even a fireworks celebration in the area).

These L.A. area residents were watchful and alert when it came to the latest scores and developments revolving around this L.A. Dodgers-Toronto Blue Jays baseball game. As exciting as this game may have been, especially with the Dodgers' "need to win" situation, it would be much more exciting if people were more watchful and alert when it comes to waiting for the blessed hope, the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13). Our Lord Jesus Himself says that we must keep watch/stay alert at all times and pray that we may be strong enough to escape the horrors to come and that we may be able to stand before the Son of Man (Luke 21:36).

I thank God that April & I are able to serve alongside brothers and sisters in the faith who make the best use of time and who make the most of every opportunity as we wait for our Lord's return. No matter which team wins this year's World Series (Game 7 is mere hours away as I write this), may we always stay focused on the prize which is eternal (1 Corinthians 9:25), as we endure and look forward to reigning with Him (2 Timothy 2:12), as we believers celebrate an overwhelming victory that is ours through Christ who loved us (Romans 8:37)!
